Reporting to: Construction Director
Key Functions
To formulate in-conjunction with the Site Project Manager, Formwork and Falsework design requirements and where necessary prepare scheme details together supporting calculations for formal submission to the controlling authority.
Ensure that all necessary checks are carried out on Formwork and Falsework design submissions from Sub-contractors and/or Proprietary suppliers.
To assist the projects Temporary Works Engineer, when requested, on all issues relating to Temporary-works.
To maintain up to date publications and data relating to the construction of Reinforced Concrete Frames and it’s associated works.
To maintain and update as necessary a Standard Details and Methods manual, containing information regarding Proprietary Formwork and Falsework systems used within the company together with details of * Special Solutions to specific items related to construction.
Responsibilities
To ensure that all design work is carried out in accordance with the relevant codes and practices currently in place.
To maintain records, on file of all Temporary- works relating to individual contracts.
To carry out inspections as and when necessary of formwork and falsework schemes and ensure compliance with design requirements.
To advise on construction methods and assist in both estimating and contractual design requirements.
To advise and report on Formwork and False work and their associated issues as and when required.
To bring to the attention of the company’s Senior Management any concerns regarding construction or safety issues.
Key Skills
Effective communication, both orally and in writing. Ability to compile reports and other documentation for formal submissions.
A comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and products.
Ability to work to tight program schedules on time and within budget.
An extensive understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation.
Comprehensive understanding of design principals relating to Temporary-works.
