Reporting to: The Project Manager
Key Functions
To work in conjunction with the site project management team in order to identify all temporary work requirements. To prepare and/our procure design drawings and details, together with any relevant calculations for such works, whilst giving due regard to all health and safety issues.
The responsibility for ensuring that all the required information is available, to those concerned, within the agreed timescales. To ensure that the works are carried out in a recognized manner and in accordance with the site safety plan, within the agreed timescales and within budget allowances.
To contribute to the company’s achievement of safety targets, to effect a zero tolerance of unsafe working practices and to engage actively with the construction team to implement safety standards.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
To submit all design drawings, details and calculations, as required, to the Main Contractor or designated authority for approval.
Liaise with internal Construction Support Services and/or Proprietary Suppliers in requisitioning all equipment/materials and plant associated with the works. To consult with the Site Foreman regarding delivery times for all off-loading, cranage and storage requirements.
To check all Temporary works, on site, are carried out in accordance with the approved design. To complete, sign and submit any formal documentation appertaining to the works, including approvals and/or permits to load.
Issue formal approval to strike formwork and falsework upon receipt of concrete strength test results.
Liaise with the Site Foreman regarding the off-hire of equipment/materials and/or plant.
Key Skills
Competent leadership, motivation and man management.
Effective communication, both orally and in writing. Ability to compile Method Statements and other documentation for formal submission.
A comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and products.
An extensive understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation.
Understanding of design principals relating to Temporary Works.
Computer literacy and ability to use CAD
Knowledge of the costs of labour, plant and materials
